Iranian parliament wants death penalty for wrong kind of blogging

http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/node/4464

Online free speech has never been well received by the Iranian government, but now Tehran is just one step away from making blogging on certain topics into a capital crime. Under a new bill approved by Iran's parliament, those convicted of "establishing weblogs and sites promoting corruption, prostitution and apostasy" will now be eligible to receive the death penalty. The International Free… Continue

I just found out that the URL:s for your blogs in your memberprofiles don't work as hyperlinks. So a visitor must copy-paste the address to the browser addressbar if he wants to go there immediately and not everybody is prepared to do that. The other and highly rec… Continue

The beginning of the beginning

Atheist Bloggers is a place where you can tell others what you have have been doing lately and promote your blog as much as you like. Only time will tell if this catches on, as this is still the day 1 and nobody even knows this network even exists.

The URL:s in profiles work finally!

The URL:s for your blogs in your memberprofiles work now as hyperlinks and there is no more need to post it to your profile as I have done before.

Christian democrats

Belgium's got regional (meaning Flemish / Walloon / Brussels) and European elections coming up june 7th, and the Flemish christian democrat party "CD&V" is probably going to confirm its position as Flanders' (and Belgium's) biggest party.
Belgium had quite a strong liberal-socialdemocrat coalition for several years, but these last few years populism and also conservatism has once again got a strong foothold.
It has created an atmosphere in which the roman catholic church dares speak its back… Continue

This feeling was for a without doubt in part caused by the name of that day as here in the Finnish language we call it the Long Friday (Pitkäperjantai). But mostly it was caused by the simple fact that in my childhood in the 60’s the television programming on the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday were exceptionally gloomy and boring, sometimes even in a disturbing way th… Continue
