What is "Big Book of Humanity"? The basic idea is that it will gather together the best ideas of thinkers, writers, poets, philosophers and scientists of the past to form a comprehensive guidebook on how to be a good human inhabitant of this little blue planet.
The "Big Book of Humanity" will be a result of collaborative effort. It is freely available and accessible to all in the Internet.
BBoH is created with the open Wiki-model, where all willing collaborators can supply content and what most…

Hello Sinners!
Here's a site that provides some comedy relief for these troubled times. MAD Magazine's senior editor loved it :
"The Best of Blasphemy is irreverent soul food for skeptics and wise-asses."
..Joe Raiola, Senior Editor of MAD Magazine
Doctor Demento also played some of the songs on his syndicated radio show and online podcast.
Enjoy!

Not My God
In my search for interviewees for Not My God (the book itself, not just this blog), I went for a diverse crowd, including a diverse group of ages. Kids/teenagers are particularly valuable. Yes, they are the future, all right, but growing up in the information age provides them with an enormous cohort effect. I’ve mentioned that they are more fortunate than I was in that I was all alone as a young atheist, whereas t…

My Deconversion story
I am an Atheist. Yep, that’s right…..I don’t believe in anything supernatural….which includes any and all religions. No angels, demons, ghosts, spirits, heaven, hell….none of it. It has taken me a few years to come to this realization and to accept it. I was scared to death for a long time that I would go to hell for thinking this way. That deep-seated fear stems from childhood.
I was not raised in a religious household. My dad was raised Methodist and mom a Baptist, but…

These people flipped out over a "Girls Gone Wild" theme party at a local bar. Check out a link for Christards at their finest! These are the type of people that make me ashamed to admit that I'm a Southerner, (since we tend to have more bible-humpers down here).

http://singaporeanatheists.blogspot.com/2008/07/failure-of-atheism.html is so true here that it’s scary.
What am I doing? I’ve been atheist all my life, and anti-religion/ strongly atheist for almost a year now. I’ve joined forums and networking sites to find new friends due to the lack of atheists in Singapore (notably, RDF, in August) and they were my refuges after I realised (thank you, philosophy/ origins…

Not My God
Here in the Not My God penthouse, I’ve realized that I’ve been doing this blog for almost a year. Praise Darwin! I’m acknowledging the milestone a little early since I’ll be in Germany meeting my new nephew soon and probably away from the blog.
I’ve certainly learned a lot about the subject matter and gotten a lot to think about through this book project. I conceived Not My God in the first place around Darwin’s 199t…

Can all of the animals of the garden of eden talk? I mean if the snake is just an animal god created doesn't it make sense the others can talk as well?

Gen (3.14) Thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field. Now I didn’t know that cattle were cursed. But later in this same paragraph he curses all snakes to eat dust. Now I have seen enough Animal Planet that I can safely say that snakes do not eat dust!

Why are cattle cursed at all? In Gen 3.14 god says to the serpent that thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field. Why are the cattle cursed? What did they do? Didn’t god just make them? Why would an omniscient being make something that he would have to curse as soon as he made it? Why not just not make the cursed beasts of the field?

Gen 3.9 where art thou? Now I thought god was the author of all and that he was omniscient. Why would he not know where Adam was. He also asks Adam (Gen 3.11) who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree… He then asks Eve (Gen 3.13) What is this that thou hast done? Does this sound like an omniscient fellow to you?

Satan is not a snake.
Satan did NOT make eve eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge. In Gen 3.1 and there after, the one who fools eve is only referred to as the serpent. “Now the serpent was more subtil than any other beast of the field which the lord hath made. (Gen 3.1)” This infers that the one who pulled one over on the first lady was just a common animal who was in the garden of eden.

Man is made of dust?
I have to give this one to the evolutionists. If man was formed of dust shouldn’t we be 90% dirt? Instead we are somewhere around 90% water. Gen 2.7 says god formed man of dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. Gross.

If god ended his work (Gen 2.2) on the seventh day, then didn’t he technically work? I understand he rested also but if I am painting a room in my house and I end the job on Tuesday I did work on Tuesday. And, if you think about it, why did he have to rest at all? Does he get tired? Does he sleep? I thought he was all-powerful so what does he do when he rests? Read? Maybe he has a hobby?

And he made man in our image. Who is our? Are there more than one god? So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Gen 1.27). Now I know what you are thinking. The bible is talking about Adam and Eve. The problem there is that God creates Eve later in Gen 2.22.
What gives?
